AGES OF OUR CHILDREN-Our school aged program is for children 5 to 12 years old.

PLACEMENT INTO CLASSES-Most children are placed into a class depending on their age, however, sometime placement is dependent upon development and ability. We offer (one) two year old class, (two) three year old classes, and (three) four year old classes. You will have the ultimate say in what class placement you wish your child to participate.

HOLIDAYS-Our program observes the following paid legal holidays: New Year's Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE- Your child must be escorted by an adult inside the building or play yard each day and released into the teachers care.  The adult must then sign the child in.  Signing in is a STATE required step in our daily functions and you must comply with this rule.  If it is found that you are not signing your child in or out you could be dismissed from our program.

Do not allow your child to run ahead of you or send them to another part of our facility without you.  Your child should never be out of your eyesight when in our facility.  Anyone picking up your child will need to be prepared to show picture ID.  We will not release any child to a person whose behavior or health appears to endanger the health or safety of the child.

HEALTH FORMS-State regulations require that each child have a health form completed and signed by a physician and kept on file at the day care center.

DISMISSAL FORMS-Forms must be completed by parents designating people other than themselves to pick up their child. These people should not be offended if asked to show identification. Also, the parents should inform the teachers as to who will be picking the child up. Please keep these files as current as possible.

VACATIONS-Upon your one-year anniversary, each child is allowed a one-week vacation per year (tuition free), with a two week advance notice.

NAPS-If your child naps, (it is your choice to have your child nap), you will need to purchase a Rollee Pollee, which is an all-in-one sleeping bag that fits our cots. Rollee Pollees can be purchased for $20.00 from PeeWee and will be sent home each week to be washed. They need to return on the child's first day of attendance each week.

CHANGE OF CLOTHING-Each child must have a spare change of clothing (weather appropriate) at all times.

SNACKS-A morning and afternoon snack will be provided for your child each day. Snacks will consist of two different servings from the four food groups. Serving size will be based upon Title 22 regulations. Additional servings will be served at the child's request. A weekly menu is posted in each classroom.

REFUND PLOICY-If you should decide to remove your child from our facility we require a written two-week notice.  We have withdrawal forms available in our office for this purpose.  These forms must be filled out by the parent responsible for payment.  Any tuition paid past the two weeks will be refunded on child’s last day of attendance..

SICK POLICY-In case of illness there will be no credit issued.  When a child is dismissed from school because of a contagious illness, a 24-hour period after the start of medication, or the end of a fever is required before your child can return to school.  Your child should remain at home until they are able to participate in a normal school day, including outdoor play.

EMERGENCIES-If your child is injured while in our care, you will be contacted at once.  In case of an extreme emergency, we will call emergency medical services to provide emergency care and transport to a local hospital.  We will call you and notify you of the emergency.

Be sure to keep us informed of any changes in address, telephone number or people to contact in case of an emergency. In an event of a natural disaster, the following procedures will be followed:

Children will remain at the site until the parent, or an authorized adult, can pick them up.
In the event of a site evacuation, children will be taken to a relocation site.
The location of this site will be posted at the emergency exits.
Every effort will be make to contact parents if an evacuation is necessary.
Staff will remain with the children until they are picked up.

DISCIPLINE POLICY-Our school is committed to the well being of each and every child.  In order to provide a safe, loving and stimulating environment, we expect a certain degree of cooperation from each child and parent.  Our means of disciplining unacceptable behavior on the part of a child is to separate the child form the rest of the group.  This is referred to as a “timeout” and is limited to 3 to 5 minutes in duration.  During this time, the child is kept under direct supervision and no snack or meal will be withheld from the child.  Under no circumstances will the child be mistreated.  If  ‘timeouts” become a regular routine and appear ineffective, a parent/teacher conference will be held to discuss the situation.  If there is little or no improvement and the child’s behavior becomes a distraction to the rest of the group, termination of enrollment may be necessary.  Corporal punishment is not part of our program and will not be tolerated on the part of any staff member.

UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR POLICY-It has come to our attention that we need a policy to deal with aggressive and uncooperative behavior of school aged children.  Usually aggressive behavior is a cry for help.  Sometimes the environment can cause aggression in some children.  Those who have a low tolerance for noise and activity. Sometimes children out-grow our facility and feel as if they are being punished by having to attend day care.  It is not easy, but it is very important to try to meet the needs of the child, at the child’s level.  If it becomes necessary to ask that your child be removed from our facility, please know that it is our opinion that we can no longer help your child and that a change of environment is really in your child’s best interest.  The following behaviors are not acceptable:
Physically harming another child or staff member
Use of foul language, especially if directed at another child or staff member
Lack of respect for the authority of staff
Lack of respect for peers

If your child behaves in any of these unacceptable ways, we will notify you and your child will be put on probation.  If the behavior does not improve, we will have to give you a two-week notice.

Please go over these policies with your child and make sure your child understands them.  Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this delicate area.

COMMUNITY CARE LICENSING-Authorized personnel from the Community Care Licensing Agency (CCLA) may visit our facility, unannounced, at any time during hours of operation.  The CCLA has the right to interview children or staff without permission or prior notification.

REASONS FOR DISMISSAL-The following are reasons that our school would be inclined to dismiss your child from our center:
Frequent delinquent or non-payments
On-going behavior problems that become disruptive to our program
Failure to pick up your sick child within one hour of being notified
Frequent late pick-ups
If a child becomes a danger to other children or staff

WITHDRAWAL-A two week written notice of withdrawal is required, except when a child becomes a danger to other children or staff.

AFTER CLOSING FEE-Our center closes at 6:00p.m during the week and at 5pm on Saturdays.  We feel it is unfair to keep our teachers beyond this time.  If you pick your child up after 6:00p.m. or 5 on Saturdays, there will be a minimum fee of $10.00 charged at the rate of $10.00 per ten minutes or portion there of.

Example: 14minutes late = $20.00,  22 minutes late =$30.00

This fee is due and payable immediately to the closing teacher.  Frequent late pick-ups many result in termination of enrollment.

ATTENDANCE-Your child's attendance is expected and the staffing requirements have been met for the safety of each child. If you anticipate any change in your schedule, please notify us as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate you.
